Hold Alt+Shift anywhere on your computer. Speak. Release. Your words appear in whatever app you were just using.
"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen). Veet isn't a household name yet, so Windows asks before running it. Click More info, then Run anyway. Standard for new indie apps.
Antivirus blocked it (Bitdefender, Norton, McAfee, Windows Defender, etc.). Veet runs a global keyboard hook to detect Alt+Shift, and AV tools sometimes flag hooks as suspicious. It's a false positive. To allow it:
• Windows Defender: Start → "Virus & threat protection" → "Allowed threats" or "Protection history" → find Veet → Allow.
• Bitdefender: Open Bitdefender → Protection → Antivirus → "Settings" → "Manage exceptions" → add the Veet folder or Veet-Setup.exe.
• Norton: Open Norton → Settings → Antivirus → Scans and Risks → Exclusions → add Veet.
• McAfee: Open McAfee → "Real-Time Scanning" → Excluded Files → add Veet.
• Other AV: look for "Exclusions" / "Exceptions" / "Allow List" in its settings.
The .exe is built from open source at github.com/vladleonte27/veet. Verify the source yourself if you want. Audio never leaves your machine.
Whisper-grade transcription that never leaves your machine.
Your voice and your text never touch a cloud. Local Whisper model, local audio, local clipboard. Air-gapped friendly.
~30x realtime on NVIDIA GPUs. Auto-detects your hardware and falls back to CPU gracefully on machines without one.
Click install. Veet auto-starts every time Windows boots. Tap Alt+Shift in any app and start talking. That's the whole setup.
Filler words are stripped automatically. What you said becomes what you meant to say.
Most people type 47 words per minute. Most people speak 213.
Veet runs entirely on your machine. Your audio and text never leave your computer. No cloud, no API key, no per-second billing. You own your data.
No. Veet auto-detects your hardware. On NVIDIA cards it runs ~30x realtime. On any other PC it falls back to CPU mode. Slower, but it works on every Windows 10/11 machine.
Yes, after first install. The transcription model downloads once. After that, Veet works with no internet connection.
All of them. Veet pastes into whichever app you were just using: Slack, Gmail, Notion, Word, your IDE, the address bar, anywhere you can type.
Mac is on the immediate roadmap. iOS is more complex (Apple restricts global hotkeys) and will follow. Hit the iOS button above to join the waitlist.
Yes. One click from your account page. No annual contracts, no prorated nonsense.
Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc → Performance tab. If you see NVIDIA next to a GPU, pick the GPU Build.
If you're still not sure, pick the CPU Build. It works on every PC. You can switch later by reinstalling.
